The Col d’Ornon

The Col d’Ornon is an often overlooked climb here in the Oisans but really should be on everyone’s to do list while staying in Bourg d’Oisans

The climb is often used in the Tour de France (at time of writing last used in 2017) as a linking col to the bigger ones in the area. It is usually listed as a cat 2 climb but still expect it to take you from 40 minutes upwards.

The gradients are never steep and there are some beautiful switchback to navigate both on the way up and down. In fact the descent from the top to Bourg d’Oisans is probably one of the best free flowing descents in the area.

Its definitely worth a climb !
