The name “La Garde” refers to a high place, enjoying an uninterrupted view and a strategic position, where a “guard” post was traditionally located. Here, studio La Garde perfectly matches the definition. On the road to Alpe d’Huez, studio La Garde at bend 16 of the infamous Alpe d’Huez climb, is in an outstanding location.
The self-catering studio is located on the first floor of a small apartment block above a little café/restaurant. The studio sleeps four but is ideally suited to one or two guests. Thoughtfully laid out to maximise space, the bright and comfortable lounge has a mezzanine double bed with a double sofa bed below, a small dining table with chairs, flat screen TV and Wi-Fi. The kitchen is compact yet well equipped for all your self-catering needs and includes a dishwasher and washing machine. The separate bathroom has a walk-in shower, wc and clothes dryer.
With cyclists in mind the studio is kitted out with bike hooks, basic tools, track pump, and bike washing equipment. There is also a lockable store in the basement for bike storage.
The studio is approximately a 10 minute drive from Bourg d’Oisans and 15 minutes from Alpe d’Huez. The apartment has private parking in the block car park at the rear of the building, and it can also be accessed by the local Bourg d Oisans – Alpe d Huez bus service, as well as a 45 minute walk from Bourg d Oisans.
